Essential Discovery Leadership Team

Adam Svet

Principal

Adam Svet is a Principal at Essential Discovery, a flagship division of the Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies.

Adam was previously Eastridge’s Director of Strategic Planning and Chief Administrative Officer. In these roles, he managed transaction and litigation matters for the $220 million dollar staffing company. He directed the integration of three major corporate acquisitions, while strengthening the company’s risk mitigation programs. Adam also oversaw senior level recruitment and targeted business development.

In addition, Adam has an extensive track record of community involvement. He is a member of the CEO Roundtable at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and is active with San Diego State University’s Entrepreneurial Management Center.

Adam also serves on the Advisory Board and California Council for the Scripps Research Institute, a nationally-recognized medical research center. Adam has been an invited speaker at numerous forums, with an expertise in intergenerational family business and philanthropy.

A California native, Adam earned a B.A. with honors from the University of San Diego. He holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California, where he was a merit scholarship recipient.

Mandy Farmaian

Regional Managing Director of Business Development

Mandy Farmaian is the Regional Managing Director of Business Development for Essential Discovery. Mandy brings over 20 years of staffing and legal industry experience to the Essential Discovery team.

Her extensive expertise includes building up and running a Northern California legal staffing company (ABA Staffing Inc.). In 1991, Mandy launched a legal search division within ABA for major law firms and corporate legal departments throughout the United States.

Mandy has successfully managed and recruited hundreds of legal professionals, including teams of document review attorneys for special projects. One of her key clients was a global law firm generally considered among America’s top 20 firms. Between 1988 and 2009 (when she joined the Essential Discovery team), Mandy’s legal search responsibilities for this particular law firm included the continuous management, recruitment and placement of legal talent, including document review attorneys.

Mandy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and French from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a past board member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants. She is also an active member of the Financial Women’s Association and the WATERMARK organization for exceptional women. She is deeply involved in her community, serving as an Executive Board Member at the San Mateo County Health Foundation.

Aaron Fluss

Senior Project Manager and eDiscovery Counsel

Aaron Fluss brings extensive electronic discovery experience to his role as Senior Project Manager and eDiscovery counsel at Essential Discovery. Aaron’s primary responsibilities include directing and managing the company's document review matters for corporate clients and law firms.

Aaron has served as a Project Manager and eDiscovery counsel for several of the top 100 AM Law firms. Over the last five years, he has directly managed over 250 reviewers. He has handled subjects ranging from intellectual property to breach of contract to SEC requests. The disputes and transactions total in the billions of dollars.

In addition to his management role with Essential Discovery, Aaron is also charged with developing advanced IT solutions for the firm’s electronic discovery business. Aaron has an extensive network of litigation support professionals, from staff attorneys to partners at multiple law firms.

Aaron holds a J.D. from Hastings College of Law, as well as a B.S. in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.

E. Mark Hanna

General Counsel

As general counsel for Essential Discovery, Mark Hanna advises senior managers and staff on labor and employment law matters. Additional responsibilities include drafting client agreements and staff contracts, as well as conducting employment law seminars and supervisor training.

Mark was previously employed with a labor and employment law firm for five years in Central California, where he handled a wide variety of litigated matters for the firm, including discrimination cases, wrongful discharge actions, sexual harassment claims, and wage and hour lawsuits in state and federal courts.

Mark earned a Juris Doctor from the California Western School of Law in San Diego, an MBA in finance from Bentley College in Boston, Mass., and a Bachelor of Science from Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H. He is an active member of the American Corporate Counsel Association and the American Bar Association.

Mark also serves as general counsel for Secure Talent, Inc.,a 1099 compliance sister company and The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies.

Emily Liou

eDiscovery & Litigation Support Recruiter

Emily Liou’s primary focus as eDiscovery & Litigation Support Recruiter is to recruit, screen and place teams of contract attorneys on a local and national basis. Additionally, Emily supports Essential Discovery's permanent placement litigation support efforts, sourcing and screening candidates for clients' permanent litigation support openings. She also supervises everyday office operations including client service support, pre-employment screening, and employment document compliance and retention.

Prior to joining Essential Discovery, Emily supported the CEO of The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies as the Corporate Associate Project Manager at its San Diego headquarters. Emily graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies. She is a member of the National Notary Association and Golden Key International Honor Society. Emily is actively involved in the National Association of Asian American Professionals and Women in eDiscovery, San Francisco Chapter.
